How to Use Lovable

Lovable is an AI app builder that turns a plain-English description into a working full-stack React app, with a real database via its native Supabase integration.

Step 1: Describe your app

Type a prompt describing the web app you want, and Lovable generates a working full-stack project from that description, not just a static mockup.

Step 2: Refine with chat

Describe changes in follow-up messages — "add user authentication", "change the color scheme" — and Lovable edits the actual codebase to match.

Step 3: Connect Supabase for a real backend

Lovable's native Supabase integration gives your generated app a real database, authentication, and storage, rather than leaving you with mock data to replace later.

Step 4: Edit the code directly

Lovable shows you the actual generated code, so you or a developer can hand-edit anything the AI didn't get exactly right instead of only being able to re-prompt.

Step 5: Publish

A built-in publish button takes your app live on a Lovable-hosted URL, or you can connect a custom domain to it.

Where it bites

Like most AI app builders, usage is metered by credits per prompt and edit. Complex apps built through many iterative back-and-forth messages can consume a plan's monthly credits well before the app is actually finished.
