Pi Coding Agent

Pi Coding Agent is an open-source, MIT-licensed terminal coding harness built as a deliberately minimal core (read, write, edit, bash) that developers reshape with TypeScript extensions, skills, prompt templates, and themes. It's aimed at developers and power users who want full control over context engineering and agent behavior rather than a batteries-included product. Its key differentiator is aggressive extensibility: features other agents bake in (sub-agents, plan mode, permission gates, MCP) are intentionally left out so you build or install them, keeping the core lean and token-efficient.
