Agency Swarm

Agency Swarm is an open-source Python framework (an extension of the OpenAI Agents SDK) for building multi-agent systems where specialized agents collaborate through defined roles, custom tools, and explicit directional communication flows. It's aimed at developers and AI agencies who want full control over prompts, tools, and state persistence rather than a hosted no-code builder. Its main differentiator is the directional communication-flow graph and SendMessage mechanism that governs exactly which agents can delegate to or hand off to which others, prioritizing reliability and production deployment.
